What we have learned so far:
Trees at the park were more frost nipped in early spring more that it seemed in our yards - we were not sure why.
When the culvert floods, our garden is inundated but the flooding is not regular enough to support a rain garden.
_We are not at the park as often as we are in our own gardens.  Manual watering that pulls us down there between work days is helpful so we have disassembled the irrigation barrels.
There is heavy weed pressure. Which combined with the frequency of our visits means we need a vigorous ground cover and polyculture.
We can not count on an easy flow of chips.
Our broadforking and alfalfa were effective at relieving compaction.
